I have a pretty bad habit of sitting or standing in one position for hours sometimes as I work on a project. I pay for it with the pain of a right leg that tends to fall asleep and an aching bottom. (No chair is ever comfortable enough.)
My way of combating that habit of mine is to have multiple projects going at once. It allows me to move from one project to another, letting my body move. And most fun of all? Medium juggling.
I've got three projects going right now: a Faery on wood using color pencils; A dragon on paper using pastels; and an altered book using acrylics and I don't know what else yet.
I actually do the same thing with my writing at times. Usually three different books in three different stages at three different priority levels. Now if only I could get three different computers on three desks to move between.
It's a wonder I have time to eat...

Hang a sign above your work that says, "Shift Your Weight!" It helped me one time long ago on a project that I had. Even then it isn't easy but you can do it.
That's a great idea Annette, thank you! I'll try it.
